BLOG: Playing politics with Marriage

The Government has just launched a consultation into the definition of Marriage in the UK. Yes the Pressure Groups are wanting it changed to include gay male-male marriage and female-female marriage. Some are even asking for the term ‘Husband’ and ‘Wife’ to be removed. If any of these changes are progressed into law it will have huge impacts on this and future generations.  

I had a dream/ vision about this very thing back in 2003. God knows the future before we do. I saw a vision of 5 people at the alter making vows. I was surprised and shocked. I couldn’t believe it. Holy Spirit explained to me that when IF we remove the notion it is a holy union and change the definition of marriage to simply feeling a strong bond with another regardless of gender, then humans are capable of many such attachments. The natural progression is not just Gay Marriage but beyond that Group Marriage and a fundamental shift in the structure of families. A change in the definition of marriage is a flawed logic that will lead us down the wrong path. The impacts will ultimately be massive. It may not be popular to say such things in our intimidating humanistic secularist society but it’s still the truth. 

I don’t believe this change has to happen or will happen. We all have a powerful voice. We can shape the future. We must fight for the future. Fight for the generations that follow us. This will need a lot of love towards people, but firmness and prayer. Heaven responds to the cry of faith.  

Marriage is a spirit union, a sign and symbol of Jesus and the Bride the church -two complimentary but very different beings coming together in harmony. It can’t be changed. It points to something beyond the temporary an eternal reality. 

“…a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Ephesians 5:31″
